Ellie doesn't go to daycare or preschool of any kind. My mom and my in laws watch her during the week, Monday through Thursday (I know, I know, we are lucky beyond belief! Free, amazing daycare!), and I am off on Fridays with her. Although I eventually want to put her in some sort of part time preschool program to get her ready for kindergarten, she is going to be a "late start" kindergartner because her November birthday misses the September cut off date. This means she won't be starting kindergarten until September, 2015. That's still 3+ years away, so I definitely think it would be a little too many years of preschool if we started her right now.
However, we decided it was time to start doing some more "learning" things with her, rather than just letting her play all day. So my mom has just recently started doing some preschool workbook pages with her. She's so darn proud of herself every time she finishes a page and tells me every day about the "school work" she did. It's pretty darn adorable, if I do say so myself!
I absolutely love this little girl, and how excited she is about her "school" work!
Hi Kyna! Ellie is so cute. Keep those photos and Ellie would be happy to see them years from now.
ReplyDeleteOh!! I love how proud she is of herself! Those photos are the sweetest, mama! I just love you and little Miss Ellie! And seriously, how GREAT is it that you have such amazing parents to take care of her during the week?! Wow, that's awesome!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteShe is such a doll! And she looks so into her school work!
ReplyDeleteOur moms aka the grandmas are the best. My mom bought Hadley a preschool book & did that stuff with her too!! Now - if only I could follow through with that. I am going start having Hadley go to "school" Friday/Saturday/Sunday mornings with me while Henry is napping. Yep you are awesome, thanks for this!!
ReplyDeleteso sweet! I've been thinking about doing the same thing with sam too, since he also just goes to grandma's house. do you have a workbook you recommend? :)
ReplyDeletelook at her holding the pencil! so advanced!
ReplyDeleteThis is so sweet. What a great "student" she already is!
ReplyDeleteLook at her earnest little face! Too cute!
ReplyDeleteSo fun! You guys are so lucky, if we had family to watch my daughter, I would still be working! Don't get me wrong, I love being home with her, but losing 40% of our income was kind of lame.
ReplyDeleteshe looks like she is loving learning..she is a natural!
ReplyDeleteOh ELLIE BELLY BUGS... Mr Jax thinks you are just the prettiest smartest little lady there ever was! (He told me so)
ReplyDeleteMama... OMGosh. LOVE this, & these pics. You are amazing my sweet friend. xo
Look at her working hard! Too freakin cute!
ReplyDeleteWe pay zero for babysitting, too. My parents and the in-laws are retired which has really given us a lot of freedom to do the things we still like to do as a couple. Lucky us, huh? She looks DARLING doing school work. I wouldn't be worried about that first official day of school. I think she is a NATURAL :)
ReplyDeleteThese shots are so great! I think it's great that she is doing workbook pages! I have to start this with my little one soon!
ReplyDeleteOh my heck.... SO precious! I love the idea to start doing preschool work with them long before they actually go to preschool! That way they can learn to love it before going to school!
